Hurricanes / Summer Olympics

Friday, August 13th, 2004

Bonnie was a bust but Charley is packing a one-two punch. Florida is getting hammered. We’ll see the rain and wind this weekend. (Why didn’t the weather service name the “C” hurricane “Clyde” ?)

The Olympics are under way. Anyone gonna watch? I might watch some events but for some reason I just don’t seem like watching as much as I used to when I was growing up. I guess with cable there are just too many choices.

Friday the 13th pretty much was a bust also. Thank goodness!

Project kick-off

Thursday, August 12th, 2004

Had a kick-off meeting for my project at work. Meeting took place at the contractor’s place near Baltimore. Pretty good meeting, but we need to focus on the “wow” factor to sell it to the higher ups - try to solve something that has never been done before instead of doing the same thing we’re doing now but better.

RUSH is a band

Wednesday, August 4th, 2004

Steve, Diana and I saw RUSH in concert last night. Its been the fourth time I’ve seen them in concert and they always put on a good show. This isn’t your rap crap or bubble gum pop band - this is genuine rock and roll at its finest, imported from the Great White North. This is their 30th year anniversary tour. The rock trio are now in their early 50s! I’d like to look as good and jump around on stage as well as they do when I get that old.

Back from Conclave

Well, our DeMolay guys didn’t win everything they wanted to, but they had a good time. I’m tired and gonna get some sleep!
