Snow in Fredericksburg

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

Its a snow day here in “Fredrednecksburg” today. It started with a light snow this morning and felt I could at least get a few hours of work done before I had to come home, but the better 2/3rds suggested I stay home. Thought about it.. still thought about it… snow hadn’t stuck to the roads at the time (6 AM), just on the grass and the cars. I relucantly stayed home. About 8:30 or so, it did finally stick (surprisingly since its about 38 degrees outside). As I write this around 10:30 or so, its still snowing and still sticking.. wonder how much total we’re gonna get though? Just hope I can go to work tomorrow. I reckon my day trip to Annapolis is shot (reschedule it for next week probably). Got lots to do, never enough time to do it.

In a blue funk

Sunday, February 20th, 2005

Sorry for not updating the blog for a while. Just didn’t have the time or the desire. Not much is going on to really make updates. And an overall not caring about a lot of things in general. I’m out of my blue funk and feeling better. I have these spells where I just don’t give a rat’s behind about some things, and get back into them after a while.

Our dog “Puppy” (even though he’s about 10 years old) isn’t doing so well. He has Cushing disease where the adrenal gland produces too much cortisol, resulting in very pigmented skin, loss of hair, loss of muscle function, listlessness, etc., etc. He’s on medication but only time will tell if he’ll do better.

Diana and I made our reservations to go to Washington State in May. Bruce is getting married and Dad, Diana and I are going out to also go on vacation (why not?). Looking forward to going out there again. Last time I was out there was in May of 2001, right after we buried my Mom’s ashes in Kansas.

Diana bought an old Baldwin organ. Supposedly it works, but I haven’t heard it yet. We managed to get it into the back of her Jeep Cherokee a couple of weeks ago, but we only got it out yesterday (thanks to Jason, Chris and Scott). However, Diana found a vacuum tube on the ground, with some of the pins bent. I think we can bend them back, but not sure. Looked up the tube number, found its a fairly common one. So if it did die, at least we can get a replacement. Lets hope it works.
