Navigating The Message Forums Menu
at the Diamond Mine Online

Assuming you’re at the Main Menu of the Diamond Mine
Online, Press M to go to the Online Message Forum
Menu.
Here is the Message Forum Menu:
At this menu, you can read and post online messages to a number of message forums, both local and networked via several message forum networks. If you are new to message forum posting, please read the section on How to Post a Message to the Message Forums at the Diamond Mine Online.
Message Reading & Posting Commands
N - New Messages
Starts displaying new messages since the last time the New Messages function was
used. By default, all forums in all groups will be displayed. The forums to be
displayed during New Message Scan can be set in the Message Scan Configs
(Press Z at the menu).
R - Read Messages
Read messages in the current forum.
P - Post Message
Post a new message in the current forum.
S - Scan Messages
Scan the titles of messages within the current forum.
Y - Your Messages
Listing of the messages that you posted on all message forums.
Message Forum & Group Functions
A - List Forums
List the available forums to read.
> - Next Forum
Advances to next forum (minor directory) within a group (major directory).
< - Previous Forum
Goes back to the previous forum (minor directory) within a group
(major directory).
J - List Groups
Lists the Groups (major directory). In the case of the Diamond Mine, this lists the Message Forum
networks that the Diamond Mine subscribes to.
[ - Next Group
Advances to the next group (major directory).
] - Previous Group
Goes back to the previous group (major directory).
Z - New Message Scan Configuration
Allows you to configure which forums are displayed during a New Message
Scan.
G - Goodbye
Log off the system
/G - Goodbye Fast
Logs you off the system immediately.
X - Expert Toggle
Disables the display of menus (NOT RECOMMENDED!).
U - Users with Access
Displays the users who can access the Message
Forums.
/L - List Nodes
Lists who is online at the Diamond Mine at the same time you are.
Other Commands
Note: Some commands start with the forwards slash (/) character
Q – Quit to Main Menu
Quit to the Main Menu.
F - File Transfer
Go to the File Transfer Menu.
O - Online Programs
Go to the Online Programs (External Programs) Menu
E - Send E-Mail
Go to the E-Mail Menu.
! - Offline Mail
Go to the Offline Mail menu (Download and Upload messages offline).
C - Chat System
Go to the Chat System menu.
D - Set Your Defaults
Set your Message Forum reading defaults.
Universal Commands
Note: Most of these commands can be used at any time at any menu. You need to use these commands in combination with the CONTROL (CTRL) key on your keyboard.
CTRL-K – Master CTRL Key List
CTRL-C – Abort Command
Aborts current function and returns to the menu
CTRL-P – Page User
Send a page to another user who is online
CTRL-T – Time Left
How much time you have left today
CTRL-U – Who’s Online
Who else is online with you
